IRSP is one of the study programs in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Hasanuddin
University. IRSP was founded in 1980 and initially integrated to the Department of Political and
Governmental Sciences. It formally accepted new students as its first student cohort in the same
year. The establishment of IRSP was based on the demand of stakeholders, especially the
Department of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Indonesia, to fulfill the need of professionals to
support the implementation of Indonesian diplomacy. In 2007, IRSP became separated department
from the Department of Political and Governmental Sciences. After a series of systematic
development efforts, IRSP obtained accreditation A (advance) In 2016, formalized by the Decree of
the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education No.1122/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/X/2015.
Currently, IRSP has 272 active students and employs 18 academic staff. The successful achievement
of A accreditation has had a significant impact on the institutional development of the study
program, therefore positioning IRSP as the most popular study program in FISIP, Hasanuddin
University.
